Tuesday Afternoon Enrichment Classes for Homeschoolers

This year, we are excited to offer three Tuesday  afterrnoon enrichment classes open to homeschoolers. Our classes provide a classroom setting where students can engage and grow together as they discuss Shakespeare, develop drawing skills and gain a deeper understanding of theology. We look forward to having your student join us for one, two, or three of our classes.

Shakespeare (Grades 3 and up)
1:00–1:40

Shakespeare’s plots, themes, and characters are universal and timeless, making them enjoyable for all ages to read and discuss together in a group. This year, we will explore the rich tapestry of Shakespearean drama through the study of three of his plays:

As You Like It

Journey with us to the Forest of Arden, where romantic entanglements and humorous misunderstandings unfold, leading to an exploration of love, friendship, and transformation.

The Tempest

Step ashore onto an enchanting island full of magic, and intrigue, as Prospero, the shipwrecked Duke of Milan, orchestrates a journey of redemption, forgiveness, and reconciliation.

Macbeth

Venture into the dark and treacherous world of ambition, power, and fate. As we delve into the minds of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth, examining the consequences of unchecked ambition and moral decay.

Drawing (Grades 3 and up)
1:45–2:25

This drawing class will provide the fundamentals and develop good drawing habits which will improve your student’s drawings. Students will learn how to use Perspective, Proportion, Value and Composition to confidently and accurately draw what they see.

Whether your student is just beginning their artistic journey or has been drawing for years, this class offers valuable instruction and practice that will benefit artists of all levels.

Theology (Grades 7 and up)
2:30–3:10

What do the various covenants given throughout the Bible mean to us? Are they relevant to our lives? A rainbow now and then may remind us of God’s promise to Noah, and we’ve memorized the part about the new covenant in Jesus’ blood at communion―but do we dig any deeper?

Pastor James Lima from Good Hope Church will be our instructor as we read and discuss the book Covenants Made Simple.
